My story

Meet Oakley! Like her sweet puppies, Oakley is now ready to find a loving forever home of her own. This beautiful 5-year-old chocolate Lab mix was surrendered to us when her former family could no longer care for her, but she has shown nothing but love and grace during her time in foster care. Her foster says Oakley is a calm and gentle soul who walks wonderfully on a leash, is housetrained, and already knows her manners — including “sit” and “shake.” She gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for many types of families. Oakley is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms, but with continued care and love, she’ll be back to full health and ready for many happy years ahead. Whether she’s strolling beside you, greeting friends with a polite paw, or relaxing by your side, Oakley is the perfect blend of affectionate and easygoing. Oakley is currently undergoing treatments for heartworm disease. Until she has completed her treatments and is fully recovered, Oakley is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; She must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. Oakley weighs 66lbs and is approximately 5 years old (est. birth date 04/15/2020). Oakley has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
