My story

Meet Annapolis Meet Annapolis – a 3-year-old, neutered male Border Collie who came to us as a stray. He was microchipped, but sadly no one ever came for him. ? When Annapolis first arrived, he was heartbreakingly shut down – hiding in his kennel, trembling, and avoiding eye contact. Now, we’re seeing a very different side of him… and not in a good way. The stress of shelter life has taken its toll. He’s gone from timid and withdrawn to what we call “kennel crazy” – pacing, barking, and desperate to get out. The moment he’s outside, it’s like a weight lifts. He lights up in the yard, soaking in the fresh air and space to move. He’s a strong boy at 45 lbs and pulls hard on leash, so a confident handler is a must. ? Knows “sit” ? Appears housebroken ? Dog & cat friendly ? Best with kids 10+ ? Needs time to decompress with a patient owner He felt safest with our Officer who walked him, showing us, that trust can be built – he just needs the right person to give him that chance.
