  Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). Meet Curly – The Cat-Loving Heeler Mix!  Breed: Heeler Mix  Age: 4 months  Weight: 25 lbs  Color: Black and White  Sex: Male Looking for a puppy who’s as sweet with cats as he is adorable? Meet Curly, a 4-month-old Heeler mix with a heart full of love and a soft spot for feline friends. Curly has had nothing but positive interactions with cats—he's respectful, gentle, and even a little curious, making him a perfect match for homes with cats who are used to dogs. Curly is still a pup, which means he’s full of energy, joy, and yes, a little mischief (watch your shoes!). But don’t worry—he’s learning quickly! He’s almost fully house-trained, sleeps well in his crate after a few whines, and is picking up on basic commands like sit, no, and leave it. He loves going for walks, playing in water, riding in the car, and chewing on his favorite toys—especially anything squeaky or cheesy (Kongs are his jam!). After a good round of zoomies, he’ll melt into you for snuggles, belly rubs, or a nap with his head resting sweetly on your lap. While Curly is still learning how to be his best dog self—especially around new people and dogs on leash—he’s come a long way and continues to improve every day. He’s a bit shy at first, especially with men, but once he warms up, he becomes a total velcro dog who’ll follow you everywhere. Ideal Home: Curly would thrive in an active home with a yard, where he can run and explore. He’d likely do best as the only dog, but does wonderfully with cats and would love a feline buddy. With a little patience and lots of love, Curly will blossom into the most loyal, cat-loving companion you could ask for.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
