My story

Born November 2024, meet Lyra, a charming teenage kitty with a heart full of potential! Rescued at just 3 months old from a feral colony in a Hayward motel parking lot, Lyra showed early signs of tameness that convinced her trappers to give her a shot at a loving home. Now blossoming into a young cat, Lyra is ready to find a patient, understanding, and caring family to help her thrive. Lyra is a bit shy at first, but with a calm and steady approach, she opens up beautifully, revealing her sweet and playful personality. She feels most secure in a home with other neutral cats, who help her feel safe and confident. Once comfortable, Lyra’s bursts of energy are a joy to witness—she can zoom around for hours, especially when chasing her favorite cheetah feather wand or pouncing on fuzzy mice toys. With the right environment and a little patience, Lyra transforms into a rewarding companion who will steal your heart. Adopt Lyra and discover the wonderful cat she’s destined to become! Lyra would do best in quiet home with another cat to have as a friend. A family with teenagers and possibly a calm dog would be great as well.
