My story

Meet SJ!! We don't know what SJ means but perhaps super jolly because that perfectly describes our boy! SJ is an older boy who was brought in as a stray. He's been friendly since being picked up and noted to be lower energy and a sleepy boy. SJ is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly and so deserving of a place to spend his golden years. Knows sit and paw! Took handling all over. Takes treats pretty gently just sometimes gets my finger very gently in his mouth. No issues with new handlers in the room Per Staff 8/17/25: was sitting the backside for cleaning, used a treat to secure ( told him to sit) with soft eyes and a low wagging tail, went to the bathroom, passed by dogs reacting to him with no reaction, pulls minimally, very curious of everyone, tolerant and timid, tolerant of handling, walked right back into his kennel - exp gold Per Staff 8/15/25: Sweet old man. Knows sit and paw, takes treats gently, very food motivated. He didn't need restraint and allowed all handling needed for intake exam, 8/15/25 8:30am - dog is friendly, seemed very tired upon arrival. Allowed me to leash him, pet him and lift him onto truck without issue. Seems a bit aloof. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
