My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:19Acorn is a 10-year-old, 43-pound male Pit Bull Terrier who may have a little splash of gray in his face, but he’s full of heart. He’s the kind of dog who appreciates life’s simple pleasures: a leisurely walk, a good sniffari, and plenty of tasty snacks. Leash manners: He pulls a bit at times, but nothing hard to manage. Acorn enjoys slow, steady strolls where his curious nose leads the way, tail wagging gently as he explores. Gentle treat lover: Food is his biggest motivator. He takes treats softly from your palm and responds beautifully to them, making redirection easy. Soft and sensitive: Acorn may startle at touch, but with patience and a kind hand, he relaxes and shows his sweet, gentle side. Low-key lifestyle: While he’ll occasionally check out toys, Acorn isn’t looking for high-energy play. He’s more about sniffing, wandering, and being near his people—an ideal match for someone wanting a relaxed companion. Friendly companion: He checks in often on walks, comes when whistled, and even wags politely at passing dogs.
