My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750 Jujubee | 9–10 months old | 10 lb Yorkie mix | Velcro snugglebug with a zest for life   Jujubee’s mornings start the same way every day— 7 AM potty break, followed by an explosion of pure joy in the form of zoomies, wiggles, and as many kisses as you’ll allow. She doesn’t just want to be near you— she wants to be touching you at all times, inching onto your lap with sneaky little army crawls until she’s pressed right against you.   She’s a quirky eater, circling her bowl and glancing up like she can’t believe the food is hers, but once convinced, she tucks into her kibble with gusto. Her days are a happy mix of play and naps, sometimes wrestling with her foster puppy brother, other times chewing on a favorite bone, and always keeping one eye on her human. She’s respectful of the senior dog in the home, though she’ll sneak in a cuddle when the moment’s right.   When she first arrived, Jujubee was shy and uncertain, but her affectionate nature quickly won out. Now she’s a classic Velcro dog— following you from room to room, seeking pets, and offering kisses on repeat. She can freeze up for a second when you reach to pet her, but the moment your hand lands, she melts into it.   Jujubee loves walks (even if her leash manners are still a work in progress) and has a healthy dose of puppy energy that would benefit from daily play or strolls. She’s mostly potty trained, familiar with pads, and does well with free yard access. While she’s not destructive, she will bark when strangers come over or if an unfamiliar dog passes by, so ongoing socialization will help her feel more confident.   Her ideal home? An active family or individual, possibly with another friendly dog, and kids old enough to understand how to help her feel safe. She has met a gentle 12-year-old and, after some initial barking and distance, ended up in his lap within the hour.   Jujubee’s favorite game is tug-of-war - especially if laundry is involved— and her big brown eyes could win over just about anyone. She’s sweet, silly, a little sassy, and completely devoted. Whoever adopts her will gain not just a dog, but a tiny, furry shadow who loves you with her whole heart.August 14, 2025, 11:39 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jujubee, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
