Quinlan, lovingly called Jake in his foster home, is a sweetheart who is full of wiggles, zoomies, and affection. This petite boy came to BARCS through Animal Control, and he has quickly shown his foster family just how sweet, playful, and people-oriented he is.Quinlan is a true velcro dog—wherever you go, he’s right there by your side. He loves staying close to his people and his foster says if you move, he moves. At the same time, he’s got a playful, silly side that shines when he’s running in the yard or chasing after a ball (fetch isn’t his strong suit yet—he’d rather you come to him for round two!).He has a medium-high energy level and loves to zoom around when the mood strikes. After about 10 minutes of running, he’ll settle down, only to be ready for another round as soon as you are. Quinlan would love an adopter who enjoys playtime and activity but also appreciates cuddle breaks in between. When Quinlan first arrived at his foster home, he was a little unsure and slow to approach. Now, he comes running full-speed to greet his people with love and excitement. His affectionate nature and eagerness to bond make him extra special—he’s the kind of dog who truly wants to be part of everything you do.Quinlan is crate trained, knows “sit,” “paw,” and responds quickly to gentle redirection when he’s doing something he shouldn’t. He’s working on his potty training and improving with routine. On leash, he can pull with excitement but is manageable and happy to keep moving along. In terms of other animals, Quinlan has done well meeting dogs at the shelter and is a social and gentle playmate. In foster, he’s shown curiosity about cats but his enthusiasm means he needs a slow introduction. He’s also been around chickens and rabbits without issue, which shows his sweet adaptability. This boy has also done wonderfully with his foster’s teenage son, who has autism, showing that Quinlan has the potential to be a wonderful family companion. With a little continued training and patience, his foster says he will be the “perfect dog.”If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, playful companion in a smaller package, Quinlan might just be the one for you. He’s currently in a foster home, so if you’d like to meet him, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Quinlan (Gucci), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
