My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Sprocket – 10–12 month old Havapoo | 15 lbs | Non-shedding coat   Sprocket is a mellow, sweet-natured young pup who’s ready to trade his shelter days for a lifetime of love and companionship. From the moment he stepped into his foster home, he’s been a gentle “velcro dog,” following his person from room to room— not in a clingy way, but with quiet loyalty. He’s the kind of dog who will nap under your desk while you work, curl up next to you during movie night, and wait patiently outside the bathroom just to be close.   Mornings start with a quick potty break, a perfect “downward dog” stretch, and a belly-rub request before breakfast. After a leisurely walk— where he greets every human and dog like an old friend— Sprocket is content to lounge in a cool spot or keep you company wherever you are. Evenings are for cuddles, quiet time, and snuggling into his bed for the night.   Sprocket is friendly with dogs of all sizes on walks, walks beautifully on leash, and rarely barks (except to announce the occasional doorbell). He’s fully potty trained with outdoor breaks, doesn’t chew or dig, and while he’s not crate-trained yet, he’s calm and well-behaved in the home. His ideal home would be a loving environment with someone who’s dedicated to giving him all the love he deserves!   Best of all? Sprocket greets each morning with the same happy ritual: a stretch, a tail wag, and a hopeful belly rub request. He’s quiet, affectionate, and just enough playful— your little ninja who slips through the house and straight into your heart.August 13, 2025, 6:58 pm
