My story

We like to call her Jo, Jojo or Josephine because she really isn’t untidy at all. Jo is blind. She has had one eye removed and will have another surgery to remove the other soon. Jo would do best in a home with another (possibly a little more mature) cat so that she can have a friend show her around in her new home. Jo is a curious kitten. She is a great cuddler (she’s purrs and purrs) and she loves her stuffed mice, crinkle ball, and ball track. When she’s playing with her toys you wouldn’t know she can’t see. She will toss and pounce just like a sighted kitten. We have kept Jo’s world pretty small when we can’t supervise (she’s in joined playpens). We also keep it arranged the same after cleaning so that she doesn’t have to learn a new floor plan. We recommend starting slowly with expanding her world so she can explore comfortably. We have allowed Jo to explore our home when we can supervise her. We simply open the side of her play pen so she can exit when she’s ready. It’s amazing the things she does and the things she climbs on. She is very curious about her surroundings, will freeze if she is unsure of her situation, and then cautiously proceed; occasionally walking into a wall (that obviously shouldn’t be there!) Jo is a very good eater, very good about using the litter box and exceptional at entertaining herself with her toys.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt UNTIDY JOSHEPHINE*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
