Say hello to Dougie — a snuggly, soulful puppy with an old man’s heart in a young pup’s body! This sweet Shepherd/Lab mix is 3 months old and expected to grow into a large dog (61–100 lbs). With a soft black and tan coat and eyes full of wisdom, Dougie is already stealing hearts wherever he goes.Dougie is happiest when he's by your side — whether that's helping in the yard, lounging at your feet, or being carried like a baby (yes, he loves that!). While he’s curious and playful, he’s also calm, gentle, and extremely patient — a rare mix in a young pup.He enjoys toys, bones, and playtime, but most of all? He just wants to be your buddy. Doug doesn't need a fenced yard, though it would be a nice bonus. He’s perfectly content with a morning walk or romp and then chilling with his humans.Dougie is pure, sweet puppy magic. He’s food-motivated, quick to learn, and has a few hilarious quirks too (like bouncing when he’s really excited). Everyone who meets him instantly falls in love.Nicknamed “Douglas” when he’s feeling mischievous and sent to the “Doug House,” this boy is full of charm and personality. He came to his foster home with his sister, who’s already been adopted — now it’s Dougie’s turn to find his forever family. If you are interested in Dougie, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dougie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
