My story

Name: NalaAge: 11 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 10.7 kg / 23 lbs (Small)Breed: Mixed BreedColor: Brown and White Health & Wellness Spayed Vaccinated Heartworm Negative Personality & Behavior Good with Dogs: Yes Resource Guarding: No Barking/Noisy: No Good with Kids: Yes Good with Cats: No, but young enough to be introduced successfully Shedding: Minimal – brushing recommended Energy Level: Medium-high (still a young pup) – daily physical and mental exercise is a must Training & Adaptability Leash-Trained: Yes Good in the Car: Yes Potty-Trained: In progress – will adjust well with a consistent routine in a home environment Crate-Trained: Yes, for travel When Alone:In her first foster home, Nala could be left alone in a patio area with chew toys for short periods. Currently, she lives in an open daycare facility where she socializes and plays with other dogs during the day. She is occasionally moved to a kennel for rest. As a young dog, Nala enjoys being with people and may resist being alone at first. It’s best not to leave her alone for more than 4–6 hours, especially in a new home. Ensure she has a safe space, comfort items, and toys to keep her entertained. Sleeping Arrangements:Previously slept indoors at her foster’s home. Currently sleeps in a shared area with two other dogs. Temperament Nala is a vibrant, joyful, and spunky young dog who seems to have left any hardship behind her. She’s trusting, adaptable, and always eager to find joy in the moment. Despite her young age, she’s intelligent, balanced, and a quick learner. Raised with plenty of love and attention, Nala is growing into a confident companion who knows she’s the star of the show. Ongoing socialization with both people and dogs will help her maintain her happy, well-adjusted nature and prevent negative behaviors from developing. Ideal Home Nala will thrive in a loving, structured home where she can be part of the family’s daily life. She would do well with: A single person seeking a loyal, affectionate companion A family with kids A home with another friendly dog She’s looking for more than just a place to live—she wants to be part of her person’s or family’s journey, sharing in cuddles, adventures, and companionship. Rescue Story In March 2025, Nala was found as a 5-month-old puppy by a rescuer who likely saved her from harm. Locals had seen a small pack of puppies in a nearby park, but one by one, they disappeared. Nala was the last remaining pup and was taken to safety. From there, she began her journey toward adoption—receiving care, socialization, and training—so she could one day find her forever home in the United States. Location: Mexico (waiting for a 10-day trial commitment)Adoption Fee: $600Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2489872##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nala, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
