My foster says: Auggie is only filled with love and joy that he would love to share with his long-term caretaker and new family. This 2 year old pup loves belly rubs, long walks, peanut butter, and cuddles. Auggie is loyal, full of energy, funny, and loving, and can't wait to find his family and forever home.**Meet Auggie!**Auggie was found tied to a fence in a Brooklyn park-dirty, alone, and waiting for someone to notice him. Thankfully, a kind person did. They brought him to ACC, where he's quickly earned a reputation for being a big-hearted guy who loves affection and will lean right into your touch like he's known you forever. Now all Auggie needs is someone to lean on for good.**My ideal home:**Auggie is a young, social pup-about 2 years old-who would thrive with a patient adopter ready to guide him as he adjusts to home life. He'll do best with someone who understands that shelter life can be stressful, and that he may need a little time and consistency to feel fully settled. A home that can offer structure, enrichment, and daily cuddles would be a dream come true.**Good with kids?**Auggie's history with children is unknown, but based on his behavior and body language, older dog-savvy kids may be a good match. He can startle or become overstimulated by loud environments, so calmer homes are preferred.**Good with other pets?**Auggie met a female dog in the care center and was clearly interested-but a bit too much. He displayed frustration when she ignored his attention and began whining and pawing at the gate. With slow introductions, he might do okay with a tolerant, confident female dog, but he may be happiest as your one-and-only companion.**Leash manners:**Auggie walks fairly well on leash once outside but tends to push through his kennel door and pull toward other dogs. On walks, he's curious and energetic but responsive to treats and redirection.**Overall health:**Auggie arrived healthy and in good shape at 61 pounds. He's currently being treated for kennel cough (a common, treatable illness in shelter environments), so his neuter surgery was postponed. Adopters will receive a waiver with instructions for follow-up care. His prognosis is excellent, and he's expected to make a full recovery.**Behavior determination: Level 2**He is affectionate, curious, and responsive. While he initially entered the shelter nervously (with a crouched posture and raised hackles), he quickly warmed up, took treats, and leaned into pets. He's been described as "aloof" at times-more interested in exploring new smells than engaging with handlers-but he's always gentle and social when given the chance. He may benefit from confidence-building activities and decompression time in his new home.**Fun facts:**🧠 Knows how to "sit" and quickly picks up on routines🐾 Loves being pet-he'll lean his whole body against you for more🎾 Not t Primary Color: Bronze Weight: 61.4 Age: 2yrs 1mths 0wks
