My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750 Meet Alibi — your excuse for more walks, more cuddles, and a whole lot more laughter.   At just 10–12 months old and 11 lbs, this Poodle mix is the perfect size for strolls, window-watching, and lap-hogging. He’s equal parts energetic playmate and professional snuggler, with a personality that’s blossomed beautifully in foster care.   When Alibi first arrived, he was a little shy and barked when left alone, but with calm departures and a bit of patience, he quickly settled in. Now, he’s a certified shadow dog — the kind who perks up at the sound of you moving and happily follows you from room to room. His favorite pastimes (besides walks) include sunbathing, staring out the window like he’s people-watching for the FBI, and perfecting his “downward dog” yoga pose.   Alibi has a predictable daily rhythm: potty breaks 2–3 times a day (8–9am, 1–3pm, and 8pm), grazing on kibble throughout the day, and eating a proper “meal” after a nice, long walk. He’s mostly housetrained, with the occasional #2 on the potty pad overnight. When you’re out, he hangs in his pen — and while he’ll let you know when neighbors walk by, he’s otherwise polite indoors.   Walks are his jam. He struts nicely on leash most of the time, though lately he’s gotten a bit more “enthusiastic,” pulling when excited and barking at other dogs. He’ll need an adopter ready to work on polite greetings, as his energy can come off a bit forward. Indoors, he’s social and loves people.   He currently lives with another small dog and does well overall, though he can get possessive around food and toys. His ideal adopter will be committed to basic obedience training and working with him to learn that 'sharing is caring!'   What makes Alibi unforgettable? His quirky “handstand” bathroom breaks, his chatty “good boy” conversations, and his uncanny ability to make every morning feel brighter with his excited greetings. He’s sweet, trusting, and utterly lovable — the kind of dog who charms everyone he meets.   If you’ve been looking for a reason to smile more, laugh more, and walk more, here’s your Alibi.August 12, 2025, 12:57 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Alibi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
