My story

Dixie is a shy but sweet girl who is in need of a loving home. She was brought to the shelter along with her sister after her owner passed away and no one was available to take care of them. The sisters were understandably scared and unsure of this new environment. However, thanks to the caring staff, they have learned to feel safe again and are slowly opening up. Once Dixie gets to know you, she will be your loyal companion. It might take her some time to warm up to you as she is very shy, so we are looking for an adopter who is willing to visit her a few times at the shelter and gradually earn her trust. Dixie is an independent spirit and would do best in a quieter home without too much commotion or lots of people coming and going. She is 6 years old, so she is already well-trained and will make a great companion for a more low-key household. She is a great size and has a loyal and independent personality. She loves to explore and sniff around, but also loves to cuddle once she gets to know you. If you think you could provide a loving home for Dixie, we would love to hear from you!
