My story

Hello to my future adopter, my name is Hermosa Ebony. I enjoy being pet and receiving belly rubs and lots of attention. I play with all kinds of toys but wand toys, toys with strings and toys I can bat around are my favorite. I take naps by the window and enjoy looking out at the scenery. I don't love being held but don't mind it if you are giving me cuddles. I hope to meet you and we fall in love so I can show you my gentle side. Sincerely, Hermosa Ebony. This feline participated in our Whiskers of Hope program. Whiskers of Hope: Fostering Cats in Correctional Facilities, in partnership with Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility is designed to give cats a calm, consistent environment to decompress and receive one-on-one care and provide incarcerated individuals with emotional support, a sense of purpose, and the opportunity to give back by fostering animals in need. Each participating individual lives in the mental health unit and has earned the opportunity to be part of this program through positive behavior, leadership, and responsibility. Cats live with their assigned caregiver in a private room, with access to shared enrichment spaces and regular oversight from both facility staff and our team. Each cat receives daily enrichment, love, and individualized care. In turn, the program offers therapeutic benefits to the people involved and helps prepare each cat for a successful adoption. Hermosa Ebony raised a litter of kittens while in our care and is now looking for a home of her own. Hermosa is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
