My story

Meet Telly – The Quiet Soul Who’s Learning to Live Again    Some dogs bound into your life, tails wagging and ready for adventure. Others… they tiptoe in, carrying stories you’ll never fully know, but hoping you’ll help them write a better chapter.   Telly is one of those dogs.   At 2-3 years old and 60 lbs., this Sheltie/Great Pyrenees mix was rescued from a heartbreaking animal hoarding situation in rural Middle TN. She was one of over 27 dogs left behind after their owner passed away—one of the first females to be freed. It’s clear she’s been a mom before, though the details are lost to us as the owner no longer is alive.    Telly isn’t a “ready-made” dog. She’s cautious, quiet, and moves through life slowly, on her own terms. Leash walking is still new, and each new space is a big leap of faith for her. Right now, she needs someone physically able to help lift her when the world feels too overwhelming and she cannot make that next step forward. .  We have had her in our care since July 10th and her progress is still fresh and full of new  ' first time adventures'.  Her bucket list to a new lifestyle is still full of things to check off.  But she is doing them confidently with a skilled foster mom who knows just how to work appropriately with the shy dogs.     Here are the beautiful things about Telly:   She’s completely house-trained (mastered the dog door on day one!) Quiet as a whisper—no barking sprees here Healthy, spayed, and gets along with every dog she’s met Already starting to experience life’s “firsts” — her first toy, first couch nap, first visit to a creek in heat of our Tennessee summer, and even her first car ride   In the right home—calm, gentle, and patient—Telly will slowly let her walls down and accept your affection and loving head pats. She’ll never be your bustling Farmer's Market sidekick, but she will be the loyal friend who rests at your feet on quiet mornings, keeping watch over her little world that includes YOU. She will give you the softest, most hesitant kisses, as if to say, “Thank you for loving me.”   Telly would thrive with another friendly dog to show her the ropes, an adopter who’s home often, and a peaceful household. Gentle children are fine, but loud chaos will overwhelm her sensitive soul.   If you believe the best things in life are worth waiting for, Telly is waiting for you and prove to you how your home can make a DIFFERENCE.   Text: 615-661-5333 Email: ccrtennessee@gmail.com or ccrnewengland@gmail.com (depending on your location)  She is in Nashville, Tn but we transport to the northeast every weekend. Learn more: www.crittercavalry.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 12, 2025, 10:10 pm
