Name:   Prieto          Best Guess for Breed:   Chihuahua and terrier mix    Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of August 2025          SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  9.2 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Prieto would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Prieto is Looking For:  His happily ever after! This small sweetie started life in Puerto Rico and is ready to make the jump to the DC area. Sniffy walks and all the adventures his humans can dream up are high on his wish list but most of all he wants to know where he belongs and to be safe and loved for all his days. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
