My story

Please contact Lauren McCarty (laurenmc@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet b Upton in search of his forever home!UPTON NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!     Name: Upton  Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 4.5 mos 8/16 - Estimated DOB 3/30/25 SEX: Male      Approximate Weight: 4.3 lb 7/30 Coloring: Brown Tabby   Type of Hair: Short Gets Along With: Because of his young age, Upton will likely get along with other cats, dogs and kids with an acclimation period.  We’re happy to help with tips and tricks!   Currently Living at: Shelter...coming to the DC area soon! I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Upton and I am a cute little kitten! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be my kitten self.  What my Foster Says About Me:Coming soon! What the Shelter Says About Me: Upton is curious, charming, and polite. Upton is sure to capture your heart with his gentlemanly ways. You are his greatest interest in life, but when you're busy, he moves along to explore and play until you are finished.  He keeps an open schedule just for you, with his only serious business being meal time (which he makes sure you don't forget)!  (Upton prefers being held closer to the ground and isn't fond of being held at a height if someone is standing up.) To wrap up his perfect day, Upton will snuggle up with you on the couch to knead and nurse on your fluffiest blanket. Upton will periodically silent meow. He may outgrow it but sometimes his talking to you is sound-less. Upton's love is as gentle and sincere as his ways. He would love a home and family who will love him in return.    Notes from foster in the shelter:   A good Samaritan brought him in. She said she witnessed him being thrown out of a moving car. His hind end was wobbly for a little bit but showed no signs of severe injuries - just soft tissue swelling. He healed up quickly and well; he walks, runs, and plays like nothing ever happened. I can touch his back end and he's totally okay with it. He's just uncomfortable about being held at full height. He has a milk allergy, so I've kept him on a diet of Tiki Cat Born Carnivore dry food (Trout & Menhaden fish) and Tiki Cat wet food (Luau variety). I haven't tested any other dry or wet brands since switching him to this, so just something to keep in mind if he gets an upset tummy. He isn't fond of being picked up and held while you're standing up, and I assume that's from his prior injuries. He can be picked up as long as you keep him lower to the ground.    Kitten Vetting Requirements: Your kitten may not be fully vaccinated upon adoption.  You will be responsible for providing whatever remaining vaccines are needed to complete the kitten vaccine series.   TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat.
