My story

*MEET ME AT OUR 8/16 EVENT IN NATICK, MA!*Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: YesCrate trained: MostlyHouse Trained: MostlyPokey Puppy is the real-life version of the childhood favorite book character, The Poky Little Puppy. He’s a curious little adventurer with a nose for finding fun and a heart of pure gold! This adorable mutt is equal parts explorer and snuggly sidekick. If there's a mud puddle, Pokey’s in it. On walks, he’s the ultimate “busybody,” always keeping tabs on the latest neighborhood news. With his big puppy eyes and even bigger personality, Pokey is sure to win you over—probably before he even finishes his zoomies. This social guy gets along beautifully with everyone—dogs, cats, and kids included. Pokey currently shares his home with eight dogs and three cats and has mastered the fine art of reading the room: he knows when it’s playtime and when to give his furry friends space. He’s respectful of feline boundaries and is great with children, though he’s still in his bouncy puppy stage, so tiny tots may need to keep an eye out for surprise kisses (and the occasional hop).Training-wise, Pokey is off to a great start. He’s working on his crate training, and with practice and consistency will happily snoozing from 9pm to 5am and chilling quietly during the workday. House training is nearly there—he does best on a schedule with regular potty breaks. He walks well on leash, though he occasionally gets distracted by squirrels, smells, and the overwhelming joy of being alive. Pokey is ready to bring fun, love, and a wee bit of muddy chaos to his forever home—especially one with furry or human siblings to join in on the adventure!Looking for a little furry excitement in your life? Pokey is sure to deliver smiles and laughter to any home lucky enough to have him. Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.
