My story

How this pet arrived: Velvatine was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement Why Velvatine might be the one for you: Are you looking for a project where you can take a willing dog and transform him into being a well behaved dog? If so, Velvatine is ready to be transformed from street stray to family pet. Velvatine seems to know that he needs training. He shows an eagerness for it and is ready. It will be better if his new family has dog training savvy and understands how to use positive reinforcement to reward good behaviors. Velvatine is still a young guy who needs a consistent routine and boundaries. He will be better as the only dog in the household with people who know how to train and reward him. He is high energy so needs space for running and playing in addition to daily walks to meet his neighbors, both dog and human. He will know when it is time to stop playing and time for sleeping. He will want to be close by you for sleeping and cuddling. Want to take a lightly trained dog and make him a very well trained dog? If so, come to meet Velvatine. And yes, his black fur does feel like luscious velvet. At SDHS:Velvatine has been vaccinated, microchipped,spayed neutered and is now ready for their new home!
