My story

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: messagemarybeth@gmail.com PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Email Mary Beth at messagemarybeth@gmail.com LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Mary Beth, 'messagemarybeth@gmail.com' ADOPTION FEE: $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 55lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: would love to be in a home with a playmate but would also be great as a solo pet! KNOWN WITH CATS: Phoenix is not a good candidate for a home with cats or other small animals. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Phoenix has been great with teens and will likely be equally happy with respectful children! KNOWN COMMANDS: Phoenix learned to sit in 5 minutes flat! She is a quick study and eager to learn. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Phoenix prefers to do her business outside, but has been caring for her babies and can't always get out when she needs to. Once she is on her own, she should housetrain very easily. KNOWN LIKES: Food, playtime, and snuggles! KNOWN DISLIKES: None yet!!! MORE ABOUT PHOENIX: This sweet girl is more than just a pretty face - she's a fantastic mama to her puppies and a truly devoted companion. Her attentiveness shines through in everything she does, whether it's keeping a close eye on her pups or showering her humans with affection. Phoenix is a dream with kids 10 and up. While she hasn't been around younger children, her gentle and patient nature suggests she could do well with respectful, older children. She is good with other dogs, enjoying playtime and making new canine friends. She does have a strong prey drive, so not a good fit for a home with cats or other small animals. If you are looking for a smart, loving, attentive companion who will thrive with older children and canine friends, Phoenix could be the perfect addition to your family! BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program. HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: · Spay/Neuter · First 3 distemper series vaccines & de-wormings · Microchip – lifetime with no registration fees · Current on heartworm preventative · Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: · Free first exam with: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage – details provided) · Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) · A portion of EVERY ADOOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Phoenix, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
