My story

- Outgoing, bouncy guy who is happy to go on adventures with his people; loves being petted from head to tail- Enjoys Kongs, stuffed squeaky toys, tug toys and chew toys - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time: "Smoky was very happy to meet me. He walked very well on the leash and jumped right into the back of my car and let me buckle him in. He just wanted some loving. When we went for a walk, he was very good when people walked by and when bikes rode by. When we were back in the car he wanted belly rubs! He did jump up once, but I told him no and down and he listened. He is a very sweet dog." - Knows sit and lay down and loves treats for rewards- Recently attended an adoption event and did well with the new people he met there - Young, noisy, or busy children can be way too much for him and he may tend to absorb their energy, so he's looking for a teens-and-up home right now- May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required) - Needs a home with no cats - Can be nervous about some medical handling and will likely do best with a vet that uses Fear Free techniques; pre-visit anxiety meds may also be helpful This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
