YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS. Meet Link! Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) 5 years old, 12 pounds Link is a sweet, spunky little guy with a heart full of love and a story that's ready for a new chapter. After being surrendered to a local vet office last November, he patiently waited there until mid-July (his owner was unable to return after entering rehab). Now he's newly into our rescue and enjoying the comforts of a foster home and learning what it's like to be part of a family again. Personality & Behavior: • Bonded quickly with his foster mom and is slowly warming up to foster dad • Very sweet once he feels safe and comfortable • Good with respectful, friendly dogs • Can sound growly when initiating play—he’s just figuring things out • Some resource guarding with other dogs (food/toys/area), but easily redirected • Fine with people around food and toys • Loves to play fetch—just wants to be the only fetcher! • Active and would enjoy daily walks and light adventures • Crate trained and enjoys having a safe space of his own • Doing well with potty habits on a regular schedule and with an early riser human • Will whine to let you know when he needs to go out to potty Ideal Home: • Patient adopters willing to let him settle at his own pace • Possibly as an only dog or with respectful dog friends and dog savvy owner • Someone who will give him the walks, love, and fetch time he deserves • Early risers and folks who can give him a predictable, regular potty routine will be a great match! • A home that can manage his minor doggie resource guarding with calm, consistent guidance Update - Link recently went on an outing to Doggos in Greensboro (combo of pub and doggie park) and had a great time! We can tell that he is a fellow who can acclimate to new environments and is ready to learn all about having adventures. He was a little bit timid but had such a fun time! If you're looking for a loyal, playful companion who thrives on one-on-one time, Link might be your perfect match! Adoption donation $250. Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet. HOW TO APPLY: 1. Go to www.lppnc.org 2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page. 3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields. 4.
