My story

Meet Frinkles! Female, 2yrs, 51# Potty trained, crate trained, leash trained Great with children. Gentle and calm. Tested with my kids 3, 11, 17. She is friendly with strangers and approaches with a wagging tail. She sometimes likes to use paws and jump on to give hugs. We are currently working on not jumping when excited and pawing at people. Freckles does like to run out the door, so we have labeled her an escape artist since we do not have a fenced in yard. She does respect the doggy get in the house. She is afraid of some stairs in the house and was afraid to come down at first. She is doing well learning and can go down to the family room where we have our crate. She does not to appear to be food aggressive. When our lab stole her treat, she just submitted and let him steal it. Frinkle's is great with my 2 resident dogs: golden retriever 112lbs and a lab 94lbs. She gives space with them and uses her crate when they get too rowdy. She seems to like routine as she is adjusting to eating on a schedule and is doing better with that each day. It is currently day 3 and she is eating more and more every day. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. If the dog or puppy is not yet fully vetted, we can only consider applications from adopters within an hour's drive or 40 miles of Lemont, IL, due to required vet visits at our partner veterinarians. For fully vetted dogs or puppies, we welcome applications from out-of-state or beyond the 40-mile radius. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. Adoption Fee: $350 The adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) Microchip Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine Bordetella vaccine 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease) General wellness care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention Your adoption fee also helps support medical care for other rescue animals, including heartworm treatments, surgeries, and emergency care. Spay/Neuter Policy: We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breed’s projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 8–16 weeks. We carefully assess each case to determine the best timing for the procedure.
