My foster writes:Do you like to hike or run? Like to play fetch or tug? Sounds like you would be the perfect family for Dixie!! She's a high energy, loving girl who wants people and play all day! She loves other dogs and going on long walks.Dixie is going to be someone's perfect companion, I know it. She thinks she's a lap dog even though she's 40 lbs! She loves to jump right up in laps and give face kisses. There is an adorable video of me on Instagram! Click here to experience the cuteness! What my friends at ACC say about me:I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.I would prefer someone who can be home with me most of the time.I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Adopt Dixie ☀️💖 (ID 221507) from the Animal Care Center of Manhattan! At only 31 lbs tiny little Dixie is a pocket sized energy ball! She loves, toys, beef liver, running in grass, and using your body as a spring board! Sweet Dixie was so excited to go to Central Park and play in the grass she was basically skipping from the time we got there. When we thought she couldn't get happier, we brought out a squeaker toy and she was ecstatic. She is such a good girl on a leash and was one of the easiest dogs to walk we've ever walked. She doesn't react at all to passing other dogs, she didn't even react when another dog tried to approach us off leash! While walking Dixie she would always turn around to check in with us and in a coffee shop and a restaurant she patiently waited for us to finish our food. She showed no reaction to loud noises or construction sites and was just happy to be out with us. A few people stopped us to tell us how cute she is, we told them she's waiting to be adopted at MACC. Adopt tiny, little Dixie girl, she would love to be your exercise buddy and enthusiastically greet you when you get home!! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: We had the chance to take Dixie out for a borough break. She was super excited and couldn't contain her energy. We slowly made our way to Central Park. In busy streets, she didn't appear to be bothered by loud sounds or other people. Once at the park, we walked for about 5 miles. Dixie was walking very easily, constantly between us, and would look back if one of us was left behind. She is social with other dogs and would try to pull to say hi. She is treat-motivated and knows a few basic commands. With some patience and training, she could learn a lot more.During our breaks, she gave us lots of love. It took her a bit of time to warm up to us, but once she was familiar with us, she was full of love. When we showed her the toy we had brought for her, she couldn't contain her happiness and couldn't let the toy go. Primary Color: Black Weight: 40.5 Age: 5yrs 5mths 1wks
