My story

Walter is a 4 and half month-old Puppy. I've had one vet tell me he's great Dane/lab mix, another said lab/Shar Pei mix. Another all 3. I think all 3.Either way he's going to be a large dog. He weights 32# today. His body is stretching out. His ears are beginning to stand up some. He is very smart. Wants to be your friend with everyone. Likes children of ages around 8 and up. Loves his chew squeaky toys. Loves to play fetch with his toys, not to interested in a ball, Being a puppy he alternates between drop it and tug a war or will just drop it for you to throw. His favorite toys are his squeak elephant and a stuff penguin. We are working on this issue, He knows sit, no, leave it, he sits and waits for his food bowl to be filled and waits for you to, say ok , "go potty," shush for no barking, he is crate trained , we are working on come here-depends on his puppy mood, he gets down(for lay down) and off(for get off) mixed up but we are trying to help with that, working on stay, knows tummy for roll over or tummy rubs, but only when he has settled down. He knows when he's done something wrong, like chewing up his bed or an old pillow. He loves tummy rubs and scratches. And a rub down when hot with cool towel. (When I first found him, I didn't know his age and wasn't sure if he could have flea/tick preventive so I used cedar wood oil from the pet store. This is when the rub downs started)We usually do this for bedtime. I have trimmed his nails once,He gets walked twice a day am/pm and loves it, it's his time to socialize with the other dogs in the neighborhood walking and people. This is when we are working on the off or down because he gets so excited. When his shots are complete, we will start working on this more. I think he would love someone to run with him. He loves zoomys and diving into cool tall grasses Hès very patient with me since I can't run. I think he is very intuitive to the type of personality he is around. He has the sweetest face and a sweet personality and is bundle of puppy goofiness. He doesn't know Cats. I have three and I just got a large crate, so I'm hoping to start introductions. He eats 3 times a day, being such a large breed and being a puppy. He gets a small cut up pieces of apple and frozen green beans or peas for fiber in his diet since he still has off and on loose puppy stools, and Chew treats to help with the teething and training and being a good dog! He needs a loving family, with or without kids. He has a lot of potential to become a lot of things. Maybe he is a water dog!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Walter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
