My story

Meet Parrot 8, affectionately called Scotti in his foster home! This handsome boy has a gentle spirit, a playful side, and a big heart ready to share with his future family.When Scotti first arrived at BARCS, staff quickly noticed his friendly, approachable nature. He was easy to leash, easy to handle, and seemed to already understand some basics of housetraining. On walks, he proved himself to be a calm companion—curious about the world, but not reactive toward other dogs. He enjoyed exploring the trail with plenty of happy sniffs and showed himself to be a social, playful pup when meeting other dogs.Scotti is currently in a foster home and his personality has blossomed even more. His foster family shared that Scotti loves being close to people and will politely roll over to request a belly rub. He’s not just affectionate—he’s also active, with an energy level around 8 out of 10. That means he thrives on daily exercise and interactive games, especially tug of war, which is his absolute favorite.Foster life has also revealed some sweet quirks. One of his foster family`s favorite memories is how Scotti “helps” during farm chores, quietly watching the small animals with gentle curiosity. Scotti has also proven himself to be well-mannered and kind around other dogs, cats, children, and even small animals—showing just how adaptable and friendly he really is.Scotti does best when he can be near his people. He follows his foster dad from room to room. Scotti is getting used to crate training.
