My story

Roo is approximately 5 years old, but her little heart has already weathered a storm most of us hope never to face. Roo’s world turned upside down when her elderly owner — her one and only, her anchor, her safe place — passed away. In the blink of an eye, the home she knew was gone, and so was the person who whispered to her in the quiet moments and made her feel safe. With no family able to take her, a kind neighbor stepped in to keep Roo from ending up in a shelter. But Roo still needs what she’s lost — a forever lap, a forever heart, a forever home. Despite her grief, Roo has chosen to keep her gentle, trusting soul intact. A complete stranger could scoop her up, and though her eyes may carry a flicker of uncertainty, her little tail will wag and she’ll lean into you like she’s decided, *“Alright… I’m going to believe in you.”* She loves being held — yes, even like a baby — and she’ll melt into your arms like she was made for them. Roo is an all-around sweetheart: she gets along beautifully with other dogs, passed her cat test with flying colors, and is great with children. Honestly, she’s about 97 pounds of perfection crammed into a 10-pound body. We promised Roo that the next chapter of her story would be the one where she finally lands the kind of love that never leaves. If you’re ready for a pint-sized bundle of loyalty, laughter, and tenderness… Roo’s ready too.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
