My story

Skye is a gorgeous 2 – 3 year old Hound who embodies all that is hound!! She’s a gorgeous, confident and VERY sweet, young girl with beautiful dark eyes and floppy hound ears! But….Skye is also energetic and adventurous too! She loves running around the backyard, chasing birds and squirrels, and playing with other dogs, doing best with male dogs. Sometimes she can get bored indoors so creates her own adventures which might include counter surfing, garbage can diving, stealing pens, clothes, and other random chewable household items. That said, Skye is greatly improving as her foster family has been working on helping her distinguish “good behaviors” like walking nicely on a leash, vs “bad behavior” like chewing, barking, and fence climbing! She’s a very smart girl and a quick learner too! An ideal home for Skye: Previous Hound experience and a passion for the breed are “musts!” As is the ability to endure their enjoyment of barking, taking things that are not theirs, and following their nose wherever it may lead. She would enjoy the company of a larger male dog, preferably a Hound of course! But would likely be fine as an only dog as long as her family gives her plenty of attention and includes her in all family activities!! Older children would be great companions for Skye but, she might be too much for smaller children. Skye would thrive with an active family committed to her and to including her in all activities! Working on manners and possibly enrolling her in obedience training are also pluses for Skye’s new family. Skye is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. Skye weighs 38 lbs. She’s housebroken for the most part.
