My story

This animal is a Courtesy Post. We are working with the owner to rehome Leaf. The owner would like for you to still submit an application with us to adopt Leaf. The Furry Paws Foster Inn cannot guarantee the vetting that the owner has done for Leaf and it would be up to the new adopter to obtain these records from the current owner.Below you will find the bio for Leaf by the owner:Leaf is just a dude with awesome hair in the body of a special needs cat. He loves talking and cuddling with his humans, playing with other animals, and watching the birds. He's indoors-only, with an occasional harnessed walk outside. He's tolerant of pretty much everything, including being held like a baby while you dance around and sing to him (he actually secretly loves it), nail trims, medications, loud noises, etc. You can even pet his tummy! Now that I'm typing it out, he's much more like a dog than a cat. The only things he hates are carriers and his sisters being mean to him for no reason (which is the reason for his rehoming). Leaf has controlled asthma and handles his rescue inhaler like a champ. He also has fairly severe stomatitis. Because of that he's had most of his teeth removed, save for his bottom canines (which may need to come out at a later date). His vet and I are currently working on finding a solution to his gum inflammation. Last but not least, he doesn't always use his litter box due to the stress in his current living situation. I strongly suspect this will resolve with a new environment and maybe a dash of kitty Prozac. Leaf would do best in a home where there's at least one other person or friendly animal available to him 24/7. He absolutely hates being alone and will yell at you about it if you try. He'll need to be with someone who's prepared to provide lifelong care for his chronic issues. This will involve cleaning his litter daily, giving him medications as needed, taking him to the vet regularly, and being patient and understanding with him. Leaf is an incredibly sweet, intelligent little man who just needs a bit of extra care and attention.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leaf, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
