My story

Unk in the care center has not been acclimating despite the best efforts to keep her comfortable. Unk has begun to leash bite when being removed from the kennel, even with coaxing, making it difficult to remove her from the kennel safely. Unk has also been observed to jump on her kennel door, panting heavily with dilated pupils. During an interaction with another dog, Unk escalated to biting the other dog on its left ear once their bodies touched after initially being separated due to the other dog's prolonged sniffing of her genitals. The bite resulted in 1 puncture and a small cut, drawing blood. Medically, Unk has a fractured canine tooth. What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.A volunteer writes: Unk is a silly name for a silly, but undeniably endearing girl. Unk has the legs of a basset hound, short and tiny and her normal sized body makes them look all the more ridiculous. Walking down the hallway with Unk, you can't help but smile at her trot. In the yard, she hops quickly onto the bench, splooting out completely with a toy to sit with. Unk was found by the police as a stray, and they wrote down "Unk" as her name as an abbreviation for Unknown - but it stuck! Now she has a silly name to match her silly shaped body. Unk has been reactive to other dogs in our care and she is looking for an experienced adopter to help her settle into a new home.
