My story

Basil is a very special little boy with a huge heart. He absolutely loves to cuddle with both humans and other animals, adores his mama and sister, and will very persistently try to convince the resident cats and dog to play with him. He’s a chatterbox who loves having his belly rubbed, and toys are absolutely his jam. Basil was born without a tail—just like his mama and siblings—but his was the shortest of all. Because of this, he has something called Manx Syndrome, which can happen in tailless cats. In the simplest terms, the very end of a cat’s spine helps control when they pee or poop, and without it, Basil doesn’t always get the “signal” in time. As a tiny kitten, he even needed an enema under sedation, but a simple, easy-to-give daily medication fixed that problem. He still has the occasional accident, but it’s just part of who he is and doesn’t slow him down one bit. Even though he may be a little different, Basil doesn’t know that—he’s too busy living life to the fullest. With his playful spirit, sweet nature, and love for everyone he meets, he’s ready to bring endless joy to the lucky family who chooses him. Basil is neutered, microchipped, has age appropriate vaccinations, treated for all parasites, and combo-tested negative for FIV/Leuk. His adoption fee is $150. For more information, please call or text 847-773-7639 or email info.stsff@gmail.com ##2485334##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Basil, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
