My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:13Harry Beary – The Gentle Explorer, who is Sweet when he warms up Harry Beary is a 4-year-old, 53-pound male Husky mix who, from a distance, could be mistaken for a small brown bear. Beneath that rugged exterior is a calm, easygoing dog who enjoys life’s simple pleasures. Leash manners: Harry Beary is a dream to walk—he responds beautifully to just a light tug to change direction and rarely pulls. Gentle and polite: He has an exceptionally soft mouth when taking treats and knows “sit,” though food isn’t always his main motivator. Curious but composed: He loves to sniff and explore, giving him an independent air at first. When he sees other dogs, his body language shows happy interest without barking or lunging. Dog social: In doggie playgroup, he enjoys meeting and playing with other dogs. Sweet when comfortable: Once he warms up, Harry Beary might paw your arm or give a polite face lick to let you know he’s ready for affection. Harry Beary would do well with appropriately matched canine companions or as a solo dog with friendly dog friends outside the home.
