My story

HUGH – THE TENDER SOUL READY TO BLOOM Available for Foster or Adoption in Illinois Hugh isn’t just a puppy—he’s a story waiting to unfold. This beautiful Border Collie x Husky mix was one of seven puppies rescued from the euthanasia list, and he’s just beginning to learn what safety, love, and trust really feel like. With his soft eyes and sweet, expressive face, Hugh draws you in quietly—but his journey will take patience, consistency, and a heart ready to believe in him. At 14 weeks old, Hugh is still learning how to navigate new environments. Transitions can be hard for him, and he’s working on building confidence in things like wearing a collar and sharing space. He listens well and wants to connect—he just needs extra support to help him feel secure and safe. With time, Hugh has the potential to become a deeply bonded companion. He’ll do best in a home with structure, clear guidance, and a calm, balanced resident dog who can model the way. He may startle or become reactive when overwhelmed, so his future family should be committed to positive reinforcement, confidence building, and slow, intentional socialization. Hugh’s ideal home includes:– A steady environment with kind leadership– No high-energy or reactive dogs—just calm, grounded companions– A willingness to go slow and celebrate small wins– A home (community or otherwise) that offers security and routine– Someone who sees the quiet beauty in a pup still learning how to be brave He doesn’t need to be perfect. He just needs to be understood. And if you’re the person willing to help Hugh grow into the strong, secure dog he was meant to be… he’ll never forget it. Apply to foster or adopt Hugh through Angel Dog Alliance.Let’s help this beautiful boy bloom. ##2484164##
