My story

Beth IS AVAILALBE (updated 09-17-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Beth, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22862&name=BethBeth is a 5-month-old female German Shepherd mix. She is possibly mixed with Labrador Retriever. She is dog and cat friendly and has a very sweet disposition. Beth is house trained. When introduced slowly to new situations, Beth is fine and quickly learns to enjoy new experiences. Back story: Beth was lucky her mom wandered into a Good Samaritan&#39s yard when she did. The mom gave birth in the that family&#39s yard which was in the middle of the desert with nighttime temperatures dropping down to 30°. All 7 puppies were well fed from birth and grew up to be healthy. At about 8 weeks of age, some of Beth&#39s siblings were picked up by another rescue group, but because there are so many puppies out there in So. Cal., and too few fosters, some were left behind. A good-hearted volunteer took Beth into their home, and we are helping to place her in her forever homeFortunately, that&#39s all in the past as Beth now spends her days romping around with multiple friends in her foster home including a 100 lb. German Shepherd, a three-legged puppy, and multiple cats. (in one of the posted photos, she is the puppy in the middle).Beth is a quick learner. She can be shy at first but quickly learns new routines and enjoys them. She is learning leash manners and how to sit and stay.Beth&#39s only downside is that she still gets car sick, even after multiple trips in the car. But once she arrives to where she is going, she settles down and enjoys the adventure. Her big paws indicate she will be a big dog, probably over 80 lbs. fully grown. She is extremely sweet and good natured and gets along with everyone. Beth loves to snuggle and sleep with people so hopefully you have a large bed! Just joking - she has a dog bed and sleeps with canine companions but give her the chance to share your bed, she will take it.Although Beth has proven to be very adaptable, she recommend that she joins a family that has at least another confident dog, or dogs, as she needs another dog to &#39show her the ropes&#39. We strongly suggest that anyone who applies for Beth has one or more dogs. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.September 17, 2025, 8:36 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Beth, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
