My story

Meet Sam (aka Oreo) 🐾Sam is a 9-month-old Border Collie mix who came to us through an owner release. When he first arrived, he wasn’t sure what to think of his new surroundings and would growl to keep his distance. But once we offered him a little food and kindness, his walls started to come down — and the tail wags began!Sam is still a bit shy, so he’ll need some time and patience to fully warm up, but underneath that cautious exterior is the sweetest boy. He already does well with his kennel mate, and while we aren’t sure yet how he does with cats or kids, we know he still has plenty of time to learn and grow. We also don’t know if he’s house or crate trained yet, but with his young age and gentle nature, he’s a great candidate for training.Sam is HEART WORM NEGATIVE, UP TO DATE on vaccinations, microchipped, and weighs 38 pounds. If you’re willing to give him the time to trust, he’s ready to give you his heart in return. ❤️🐶Sam/Oreo's Adoption Fee is $108 plus taxDogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis for owner releases. Strays have a wait list.
