My story

• Name: Jia • Age: 8 months • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Jindo Mix • Color: Beige • Current Weight: 10.4 kg • Height (to shoulder): 45 cm Rescue Story In December 2024, Jia and her siblings were found in a village warehouse. Their mother, a stray dog from the nearby mountains, had come down to the village to give birth and care for her puppies. Sadly, the mother eventually disappeared, leaving the five puppies behind. The local residents, unable to care for them, sent them to a shelter. Four of the puppies were adopted into loving homes, but Jia remained behind. Over time, she started to lose her spark in the shelter, and we wanted to give her a second chance at finding a forever family. ‍ Socialization – People Jia can be timid when encountering new people or unfamiliar environments. However, with treats and gentle interaction, she quickly warms up and allows petting. Once she bonds, she becomes affectionate and enjoys being petted. Although she has not been directly exposed to children under 13, her calm and sweet nature suggests she could adapt well. Jia allows being held with arms under her belly, and once comfortable, she happily shows her belly in trust. Socialization – Dogs Jia is friendly and social with other dogs. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs with a wagging tail and a desire to play. However, she may feel overwhelmed by high-energy dogs and can growl or retreat if they approach too eagerly. She feels more secure around calm, larger dogs and tends to enjoy playing with dogs her size or smaller, especially those with gentle temperaments. Socialization – Cats Jia lived with a cat for one month, making her a good candidate for a home with cats. Energy Level She has a moderate energy level. Jia enjoys outdoor time and play but is calm and relaxed afterward. Walking & Leash Manners Jia walks well in quiet areas but is anxious busy streets and loud traffic. She is currently undergoing leash training to improve her confidence in urban environments. Other Notes • Jia does not guard food from people or other dogs. • She may bark briefly when unfamiliar guests visit the home. • When placed in a crate, she may whine at first but settles down. • She isn't accustomed to car rides and prefers to be carried into the vehicle. • She is accustomed to both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty training. With consistent walks, she is expected to fully transition to outdoor elimination. Ideal Home Jia would thrive in a calm and patient home that can help her continue building confidence. She would do well with a gentle dog companion and could adapt to a household with cats or older, respectful children. With love and time, Jia will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. Send in your application through our website! Please also check out her post on our Facebook or Instqgram. Currently in Korea — available for adoption in Canada & the U.S. ##2484449##
