My story

Kody is an extremely sweet and affectionate shepherd mix pup. He loves playing out in the yard, swimming in the pool, chasing her foster sister, and sometimes just curling up on the couch for movie night with his foster mom. Kody gets along great with other dogs and currently lives with 2 doggie and 2 kittie foster siblings. He is not interested in the cats. Kody walks well on leash. He is playful and is always very relaxed and sweet with people. He is truly a great companion who just wants to be loved and be your shadow. Shepherd experience will be needed to adopters, as he also needs structure to thrive. Kody has let kids of all ages pet him and loved every minute of it. He currently lives with a 10 year old kid. But he can knock down little kids. Kody would do best in a family who can offer him regular walks to make sure that he stays healthy. He is quite an active pup, therefore a home with a fully fenced yard will be mandatory for him. Kody is only 18 months old, weighs 65 lbs, and is current on vaccination, and is neutered and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. Kody is currently being fostered in Houston, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. His adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or in person, please send an application available at www.savesomesouls.com Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. . Our dogs come from high kill shelters or the streets where they are abandoned, or surrendered by owners who can no longer care for the. They get vetted upon intake, and are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another urgent dog, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kody, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
