My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Paloma just arrived at our shelter from the city pound on Aug. 6th. She more than fulfilled her legal stray hold and no one claimed her. She appears to be a purebred Shetland Sheepdog and is 1-2 years old. She's very shy at the moment but very sweet and loving. We will need to get her vet checked and spayed soon and her fee is $150. We're still getting to know Paloma and will update her bio as we know more about her. We are hoping to find a home for her that has experience with herding breed types. They are typically very intelligent, fairly active, and like consistent routines and order. Paloma will need some basic training and consistent grooming. We do think she would do okay with other dogs but have no way of knowing about cats. She needs an adult only home or one with older kids (no infants or toddlers). NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
