My story

MEET ANIKA!🐾 Anika is a beautiful female, Blue Merle Heeler that is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 38 lbs. She is ready to find her ā€œfureverā€ home through PAWS Rescue inc. Anika has blossomed from a scared pup into a happy, playful companion in just a few weeks. She sticks close to her person, loves car rides, and enjoys exploring the property (1.5 acres) without wandering off. She’s medium energy, sleeps in when needed, and loves evening cuddles on the couch. She’s friendly with guests after a quick sniff, and she’s non-reactive to cats, chickens, and horses. Anika is doing well with house training—no accidents during the day, and nighttime ones are rare. She’s part of the pack (with 3 other dogs) but also enjoys her independence. She comes when called, plays gently, and doesn’t shed much. Not a big barker, though she’ll join in if the others start. She can be a bit of a heeler—occasional lip curl if another dog is getting attention, which she stops with a quick correction. She once attempted to ā€œherdā€ a child with a heel nip, so older children and supervision around kids is advised. (Typical breed behavior). Loud or unfamiliar noises can still spook her. She may have some eye allergies as she does have watery eyes. She has been to the vet and is being treated for them currently.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Anika, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
