My story

Meet Chewy! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 7/30, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. We're surprised no one is missing Chewy because he is just the sweetest dog! The volunteers adore him and describe him as super friendly and calm. For being a big dog, he is really great and gentle walking on leash. He is a smart too and knows several commands including sit, stay, and down. Many shepherds have issues with their hips as they age, and Chewy is no exception. He may be a little slow getting up and down, but for a senior he is doing very well. If you're looking for a mellow, low key gentleman to share your days with, please come meet Chewy! He should be living it up in a loving home during his golden years, not inside a loud and overwhelming shelter. Chewy is approximately 8 years old and weighs 98 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, has been neutered, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered upon adoption. Please come meet Chewy in run 859; his ID # is 12356. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
