My story

Location: Street, M Meet Janet Snackson - The Gentle Giant in Training At just 3 months old and already 22.5 pounds, Janet Snackson is well on her way to becoming a 90+ pound beauty. With her goofy bounce, sweet spirit, and impressive smarts, she’s the total package - and she just might have what it takes to be a phenomenal service dog, whether formally trained or as a devoted partner in her forever home. Brains and Heart Janet catches on to commands quickly and is already doing well with “sit,” “off,” “drop,” and “shake.” She responds happily to praise and affection, often just as motivated by pets as she is by treats. She’s observant, eager to please, and naturally tuned in to her people - all qualities that make her a dream to train. Gentle Play and Big Love This girl may grow into a giant, but she’s gentle with her tiny 5-pound foster siblings, even playing with the puppies she was found alongside in a box on the roadside. She’s affectionate, often bringing a toy over to chew during snuggle time, and her “fawn bounce” when fetching will make you laugh every time. Balanced Energy Janet loves playtime, walks, and mental stimulation, but she settles easily when the fun is over. She’s a talkative player, sometimes barking as she bounces, but she’s just as content to nap or chew a toy when her humans are busy. She’s crate-friendly, uses a designated kennel potty area with pine pellets, and is thriving in a consistent routine. The Perfect Match She’ll do best with an active home that has space for her to stretch those long legs and run. Dog-savvy kids or parents willing to teach respectful dog manners would be a great fit. With her size and temperament, she’ll need a family ready to embrace life with a gentle giant. Whether she becomes a true working partner or simply your home’s most loyal and loving companion, Janet Snackson has all the potential to be your once-in-a-lifetime dog. Included Veterinary Care: - Age-appropriate Vaccinations - Microchipped - Flea/Tick Preventative - Dewormer - Heartworm Preventative Spay/Neuter at one of our partner veterinarians is included in the adoption fee. Our partner veterinarians are located in Ashland, VA; Fredericksburg, VA; Mechanicsville, VA; Harrisonburg, VA; Manassas, VA; Davidsonville, MD; Waldorf, MD; Columbia, MD; Grasonville, MD; and Jonestown, PA (Cats only)
