Etta

My story

Etta can`t wait to be singing `At Last...My home has come along...and all my lonely days are over...for you are mine at last!` Etta is a younger dog at an estimated age of 1 1/2 years old. She`s also a lovely medium size at only 38 lbs. She`ll fit in just right in almost any home! Etta came in as a stray so we don`t know her history. The first thing you`ll notice about her are her beautiful blue eyes that almost glow against her dark fur. She`s a fluffy black dog with a curly Q tail.Etta is timid at first, but hot dogs will help break the ice faster. She can get startled by unfamiliar things, so a calm and patient home would be best for her. When she finds her people and they show her the world isn`t so scary, she is sure to blossom. She does show her affectionate side pretty quickly if treats are involved. If you`ve ever won the heart of a shy dog, you know how special it is!Like all our adult dogs, Etta will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. Come fall in love with her at our Zona Rosa location. She has been fearful of the dogs in play groups, but she still could match with a dog with the right demeanor.Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter? They are oftentimes the dogs who stay in shelter care the longest and are chosen last. Break the stigma and adopt a black dog today. Remember, black dogs are the best dogs. Their hair doesn`t show up on black clothing and their coats don`t appear as dirty as they may be. Will you be the lucky owner of a black shelter dog?
