My story

- Came from a situation where she did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age; because of this, she may struggle with new situations, may show uncertainty with novel everyday objects, and will need patience and structure with housetraining. - Incredibly sweet girl once she is used to you, and she has made friends with many of our team members and now loves attention and pets when they visit; looking for a family who will give her the time and patience she needs and allow her to make friends at her own pace - LOVES toys she can toss around and enjoys treat-based enrichment as well - Likes meatier treats best, and is extremely gentle while taking treats- Has made good progress with leash-walking and walks very well outside - Has had no experience with getting into vehicles and has been fearful of vehicles, seeking comfort from those around her; we highly recommend transporting her a crate to ease her stress in these situations - A busy home with young, noisy, active children may not be ideal for her (mature home recommended) - Has been fearful of dogs she has not met before and tends to freeze or avoid them; may prefer to be the only dog in her new home (dog intro required) - Arrived with an old, severe injury to one eye and underwent surgery to remove that eye; is fully healed and doing well now All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
