My story

My name is Maggie. My person passed away and I lived with a foster family in Alabama for five months. My foster dad cried when I left. It's because I'm the sweetest girl in the world and all i want to do is cuddle with my people. I lived with other dogs in Alabama and I'm living with a Great Pyrenees now. We get along great but I don't really play with her. I'm more of a people person. This evening I went to a block party and did great with all the little people that wanted to pet me. I love people because it means more cuddling! I don't use a crate because I'm past that stage. I don't do my business in the house and I don't mess with things that I shouldn't. Last night I slept the whole night in bed with my new foster mom and dad, so if you're ok with that sort of arrangement, I'm all in. Otherwise, I'll just find a cozy spot in the house to spend the night. I'm great in the car and I'm good on walks, unless I see a rabbit. I'm learning to be better when I see another dog on a walk. I'm a good eater and I don't resource guard or fight with my fluffy sister over food or toys. I don't beg for food at the table either. I'm mostly perfect. I think I would do best in a fenced yard because of the rabbit situation. I would also do best with someone who works from home because I'm such a people person and I would be lonesome being left alone all day. ***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Maggie is heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. Once her treatment is complete, the adoption can be finalized and it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a microfilaria test 30 days after treatment for a preliminary result. Then, a heartworm test 9 months after treatment for final results. It is recommended that she continues getting tested for heartworm annually. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise until she receives a negative microfilaria test. Maggie will also need continued use of monthly heartworm preventives going forward. This will all be covered by Warrior Dog until her last injection. Any other medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. If you are interested in adopting Maggie, please fill out an adoption application. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maggie - Foster to Adopt, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
