My story

Ranger is a happy, snuggly boy who could win an Olympic medal in sunbathing. He loves the warm weather and is happy to lounge in the sun for as long as you’ll let him! This handsome boy is estimated to be about 3 years old, weighs around 60 lbs, and is in good health. While he appreciates a daily walk, he’s a pretty easygoing guy. He's equally up for an adventure and some zoomies or snuggling up to binge watch your favorite show. Ranger is a very social boy. His foster home includes multiple dogs and he gets along well with everyone. He especially loves to cozy up to them on the couch or on dog beds, and he shares his toys well. His foster mom also pet sits many of her former foster dogs, so he meets new dogs regularly and has been a friend to all. Ranger also has experience living with cats. He experiences an initial burst of excitement, but a dog-savvy cat who can avoid him during those moments will quickly find that he's able to peacefully coexist. He also loves people! He can be a little nervous with new folks at first, but with proper introductions he’ll soon be warm and welcoming with a big wide tail wag. Before long he will be crawling in your lap to snuggle! He has received professional training to help him build his confidence and feel more comfortable greeting new folks, and his foster mom will happily share everything he’s learned with his new family. Ranger is also the perfect quiet coworker. His foster mom works from home and he can usually be found lounging under her desk or on a nearby dog bed while she works. But when you need to be out of the home, he can be left alone in the house without issue—although he will use your throw pillows to build himself a pillow fort to snuggle in! Ranger’s ideal home would be with folks who want to share their life with their dog. He doesn’t demand much, mostly just your love and company! He doesn’t know his size though, so he’d do best in a home with adults and/or older kids (no small kids); he previously lived with an 11-year-old and did great. While Ranger would love a canine companion, he could also be perfectly happy as an only child, so long as he has companionship and connection with his people. A spot to sunbathe is a must, but he’s not picky. A yard, balcony, deck or porch will do!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ranger, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
