My story

A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold – Meet Leia!Meet Leia! Her previous owners and staff here say her capacity for love is even bigger than she is. If you`re looking for a loyal, smart, and incredibly loving companion, then she might be the one for you.Leia has a wonderful history of getting along with everyone she meets. She has happily lived with children, other dogs, and even cats, so she`s a seasoned professional when it comes to being part of a family. Her favorite pastimes include gentle strolls, getting affection from her people, and perfecting the art of the cuddle.Leia is on a bit of a wellness journey right now, and she`s looking for a special family to be her teammate. She is currently working on losing some extra pounds, which will help her feel much healthier and take the strain off her legs. The vet noticed some inflammation in her legs, possibly from an old injury, but she is feeling so much better thanks to an anti-inflammatory medication (Carprofen) that helps her stay comfortable and happy. Although if she does begin to experience more discomfort in the future, she may require further diagnostics and possible surgery to repair. To keep her feeling her absolute best, Leia will need a family who can commit to helping her with her weight loss plan and continuing her medications. She also takes a medicine called Apoquel for her skin allergies, and her skin has never looked better! These medications may be a long-term need, but they make a world of difference in her quality of life.Any investment in Leia`s health will be returned tenfold in loyalty, kisses, and companionship.
