My story

We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 8/9/25 to NorCal, OR, WA, ID, and CO. We are combining our Trip up north with our trip cross country this time, so surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Leia to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet our beautiful girl Leia! She is a purebred Yorkie. She turned 2 years of age on 6/2/25. She is a larger size Yorkie weighing in at 12.6 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, had a dental cleaning done at time of her spay, and had a wonderful exam with our vet who has cleared her to find a home all her own ❤️ She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in the crate at night. She is very content in the crate, and doesn't have any issues sleeping all night very peacefully. She loves bunking with other dogs, but if you don't have any other pets at home she can do that with she will be just fine by herself as long as her bed is comfy and warm. If you wanted her in bed with you, or in a bed all her own next to your bed I'm sure she would do just fine with that arrangement as well. She is a very easy going, go with the flow kinda gal! She is doing wonderful with leash training, and has been growing more and more confident with her walks. She will need some encouragement in the outside world from her next adopting family but once her trust is built with you then following your lead will be a walk in the park for her ❤️ She is house trained, and goes outside to use the restroom throughout the day every 3-4 hours when asked to. She is very smart, and if she doesn't need to potty, she will stand back and wait for you to come back and sit down or do whatever it is you were doing. I would reccomend a good schedule moving forward as she really appreciates knowing we ask her to go out and had never had to ask us herself ☺️ She is amazing with other dogs and cats. She loves to play, and will run and chase balls with them or play tug a war if she isn't gently rolling around with them pawing at eachother as if they are playfully wresting. She is a sweet friend to all of the animals we have here, and is sure to complete another friends home if her next family happens to have a playmate for her. If not, she will be just as happy having her person to shower her with all of their love, affection, and attention ❤️❤️❤️❤️ She is not a barker, and will on occasion alert you of unfamiliar noises. She listens very well; and once asked to stop barking she will let you take over and either go lay back down, or follow you to ensure you are safe 😁 She is very attentive to her person, and their needs at the end of the day so making sure you are okay will always be a priority to her and knowing you take care of her the same way will forever fill her heart with the same joy your days will be filled with by just having her a part of each and every one of them 🥰 She is wonderful on road trips, and will lay in her bed napping majority of the trip no matter the length. You will see her occasionally sit up and place her paw on you to let you know she loves you, but then will go back to her bed. A booster car seat where she is able to be close to you would be ideal, especially with her being able to gaze out the window on longer trips. She is amazing at the groomers. And enjoys a good spa day getting all dolled up for her humans to rave about upon her arrival back home. She loves being told how beautiful she is, and will snuggle in your arms soaking up every single word of affirmation and admiration you have to give her so I reccomend to give her extra so that the cuddles last longer ❤️ She is not high energy whatsoever. Yes, she loves to play, but overall is a very laid back, and serene tempered girl. She loves knowing where you are, but has no problem just hanging around while you tend to your day. She is EASY to love, and equally easy to please. She doesn't ask for much, but appreciates it all. She truly is a special girl and one that is so deserving of a life as great as she is ☺️ Her prior owner was a very young woman who financially wasn't equipped to care for an animal. She reached out to her mom for help, but she had dogs of her own to care for so she was placed in contact with us here through her vet who knew us and asked us to take her in and find her a family who would care for her the way she deserved to be cared for so here we are ❤️❤️❤️ Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_leiaLeia ❤️ It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, dental cleaning and polish she had done, along with her antibiotics given to aid in the healing of her spay and dental. It also covers her exam which went perfect! As always it also covers the months of care, grooming costs, and training we have personally done with her ❤️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
