My story

Iris is a beautiful, 8 year old American Bulldog mix. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccines and preventions and heartworm negative. She weighs 62 pounds and walks nicely on a leash. Iris was part of a 30 dog cruelty confiscation case from a backyard breeder. All the dogs lived in tiny, filthy crates outside on a porch. Iris was thought to be the mom to many of the dogs seized. She had clearly not had the best life Iris is learning what it's like to be a dog and have a life as a lived family member. She is shy and timid around new people and situations but warms up quickly. She needs a slow and steady pace with patience and understanding. We recommend any children in the home be 10 or older for Iris. Iris does well with other dogs with slow introductions. She prefers dogs that are calm like herself and not in her business. Iris has come so far in her foster home. She enjoys soft beds, the couch, chewing bones and she really loves her stuffed toys. She has started seeking out affection and she is very sweet. Iris is housebroken and has perfect house manners. Iris is fully vetted. She did have one mast cell tumor removed. It was low grade and completely excised. She is now ready to go to the most amazing home she's ever had. *****PLEASE EMAIL ALL INQUIRIES DIRECTLY TO LOVETOTHERESCUEINC@GMAIL.COM **** Travel time for adopters should not exceed 1.5 hours from Spring Hill Florida

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Iris, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
